Wltoys K989 1/28 Rc Drift Project EP14 Custom Carbon Chassis Upgrade and Test Drive DIY Rc

In Episode 14 of the Wltoys k989 1/28 Rc drift project we are making a custom chassis plate out of carbon because of last week servo upgrade for more steering angle we need more space for the servo arm to move without hitting the chassis to make the car drift easily than before and helps to learn how the car reacts to drifting on high speed and low speed

To make this Custom carbon chassis you need a piece of cardboard to make a simple template that is twice the width of the original top plate
we also used the stock top chassis to mark the holes you need for the screws and motor mount to sit securely

We used a 3k 2mm carbon sheet and a Dremel tool to cut the custom chassis

You need 2mm drill bit for the 4 chassis screws and a 4mm drill bit for the motor mount and 2m washers to raise the front of the top plate to clear the front upper arm

8. DIY Rc: do you velcro them to the top plate or around the top and lower chassis? I got a 450mah 80c to 160c battery that just fits but love to keep it as lightweight as possible seems to give me the most fun drifting it thanks for the tip and support thx :D
9. Kenneth Maneeley: Great videos!!!! Hey suggestion for you. For the battery. I have the k989 rally and the k999 and i used velcro for the batterys. Easy in and easy out. No more wasting of tape. Plus i have been able to use other batteries in it as well with slight overhang of the chassi. I have never lost a battery yet either. I use the industrial velcro. Try that out also! Keep up the great work.

13. Roberto Correia: I’ve replaced my servo with a 9gram also but I can’t get as much throw as you because the wheels hit the springs. How do you get it not to hit the springs? Great video! These little cars are so much fun!!!

16. DIY Rc: haha not just found scratch marks on the shocks seems we are going to need a single shocks mod or upgrade to a hobby grade radio and dial the servo throw back at the moment we just try not to steer full lock :D
