My Childhood Rc cars Barn Find being restored and brought Back alive after collecting dust for 20 years
The Custom Rc Cars are Build by my dad back in the day when everything seems to be sold as a kit
The nitro car was my older brother and the electric is my childhood Car with a yellow Lambo body that seems to be missing
The vintage electronics are from Robbe high-end quality stuff worth every penny seeing they still work after 30+ years
You don't see mechanic speed controllers controlled by a Servo anymore and then to see they still work is just mind blowing
It's so special to find your childhood Rc Hobby graded toys after so many years
it sparked new life in the Hobby for me and what did I know what was facing me
all these new 2.4ghz transmitters and FPV technology just blow me away and inspired me to get back into the hobby and start building my own Rc planes just like my dad did

- Del350K4: Hello, David; in case you didn´t know, the nitro car´s a Mardave "Stockmaster". Mardave, an English company are still in business and Mardave cars are still raced in Britain to this day.
It was great to see these two old-timers brought back to life, and I agree that surviving a 30-year layup is evidence of the high quality of Robbe´s electronic equipment.
- Del350K4: I bet it was a Countach, like the yellow one parked outside the dyno shop in my "Mk. I Escort Does Dyno Run" video.
- PERTH WEST OZ RC: Will be looking forward to see you restore them David
- Ed Will: Excellent video......again...
- Nordic RC Visions: Congrats. Cool. Just unboxed and restored a Tamiya Falcon that had been sitting in the box for almost 30 years with Graupner electronics. Everything worked too :-)
- DIY Rc: +Quad Damage FPV thanks mate rc is always binn a big part of my life and my love for rc is big and diverse just like for the big toys haha
- Quad Damage FPV: I always wanted to play with RC cars when I was kid - but ended-up going down the computer path from an early age - funny how it turned into RC in the end...
- Del350K4: I only wish I knew what the electric car is...
- Sarge Scum: Glad to see that your oldies are still alive. Great work.
- DIY Rc: the servo's are also robbe everything is high-end quality no cheap garbage quality of futaba
back then they wore the cheapest brand on the market
pretty hard to believe is you see there price now! but that's how they got their market share and grow from there to what they are today
- Jeff Barton: The nitro car is beautiful. Id have to drop a traxxas 3.3 in it and resto-mod it lol
- DIY Rc: that's cool there is a good chance it still works since it from around the 1980's :D
is it electro or nitro?
- DIY Rc: I don't know my dad told me the story
i was too young and only played with the car :D
- Quad Damage FPV: Nice video - really enjoyed your commentary - your passion for RC is deep. Can't wait to see how this story unfolds!
- DIY Rc: thanks for the tip Sir but we already made it run on a 2s lipo no problems at all :D
- DIY Rc: danke shone lol thx buddy really appreciate it
they are my pride possessions :D
- Farkmohammed Pigs: That car will melt with a lipo, you need to change the electronics to handle a lipo
- PERTH WEST OZ RC: David thanks for sharing friend.. That is so cool those rc cars still come to life after all those year.. 35 years, and wow that nearly as old as me haha.. Thumbs up 😉👍
David @PWOZRC
- Samuel Santisteban: Wonderful man my collection of 25 years will soon be revived too after watching your vid wonderful to still see the servos moves how time flys
- Chris Stewart: Love the classics better than these over powered brushless lipo powered rockets of today! Restoring a Kyosho Double Dare as we speak!
- Thijs fpv: Nice vid man!
- Remote Addicted: Awesome that they are still working! Great vid 👌
- rc and gaming labs: Hi David. I'm David. Beautiful vintage cars! I subbed!!!
- MinotaurKing1: Hello mate! These servo are futaba or robbe?and which servo are?Your video is excellent I want to see these cars after restoration!!!
- DIY Rc: wow the same hire lost both transmitters but my servo are also very glittery that's why i'm thinking about upgrading everything to 2.4 Ghz and new style ESC and motor on the nitro
my electro stay the same the diff is pretty worn out :(
- Nordic RC Visions: How To DIY Rc Yeah, I did a whole video series with it a few months ago. It is fun to share this restoration projects with others. And it’s fun to see other’s projects, like yours :-)
- MinotaurKing1: How To DIY Rc
Do you have video with cars after restoration?
- Skott: You mean 40 years, it’s 2018. 1980’s is almost 40 years ago
- DIY Rc: no they are not restored yet because we lost both transmitters :((
- senseTUBE: Awesome =)
- PD Tech: Great they are still working! I have a Tamiya Super Sabre I built many years ago, probably late 1980's on my work bench in the garage, you might just have inspired me to get it running again!
- DIY Rc: wow thanks my friend very helpful info and so cool that are still racing this chassis
I almost thought it was homemade because my dad diden't remember and my brother diden't know we were way to young
Way to young to drive such high-end rc cars that's one thing i do know looking back on it hahaha..thx again appreciate the help Sir :D
- DIY Rc: hi david thank you appreciated
- DIY Rc: Ye super rare after standing still for so many years collecting dust
- MinotaurKing1: How To DIY Rc
I thought that the robbe servo are the same with futaba only the label is different!!!!!
- DIY Rc: haha your right classic gold
- DIY Rc: Ye me too!
the only thing i know is that it got a yellow Lambo body once a long time ago
- RC Play Ground: It's a car I was born at one age.
Really poetry... ^_^
- DIY Rc: lost the controllers so the cars are back collecting dust
- DIY Rc: by now yes it is almost 40years crazy built quality from the 80s is so amazing
- DIY Rc: that's nice vintage gold be gentle are your making a vid about it?
don't know about my electro chassis but ESC and battery are from tamiya too :D
- PD Tech: How To DIY Rc It's electric, I remember upgrading the original 520 motor for a very quick 'tuned' motor. The speed control is 3 step mechanical the servos are all accoms but I may have misplaced the transmitter! :( and I would imagine the original nicad battery pack will be dead? So would need to get a 27mhz transmitter and suitable battery pack. It's basically all in great condition just a little dusty.
- DIY Rc: Sure to be checking your vintage vids series then :D
- Derek1978: so what happened to these?
- DIY Rc: nice that cool looking forward to seeing more vintage Rc gold :D
